BIOGRAPHY
I am an Arizona based journalism student studying at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. I was born in Arizona, but lived abroad for three years during high school. I was 16-years-old and living in a small community in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, when I published my first piece. Since then, journalism and media production have been a fundamental part of my life. I first started writing professionally with Mesa Community College's campus newspaper, The Mesa Legend. After two years spent between the Opinions and News desk, I graduated from MCC with my associates degree and transferred into a two month summer journalism program in Washington D.C. with The Fund for American Studies, George Mason University and The Well News. In 2020, after graduating from TFAS, I returned to Arizona and the Cronkite School of Journalism to finish my undergraduate degree. After a short while I found myself working a split semester at Arizona PBS's news division, Cronkite News, as both a Digital Producer and Digital Reporter. From there, I applied and was accepted into an internship with the Arizona Republic's Breaking News desk. I wrote there for six months before deciding to pursue a master's degree from ASU's School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership. I pursue journalism with the dual-purpose of honing my investigative abilities and affecting change in my community. In the future I want to publish long-form investigative novels and run my own news business. SKILLS
